Preuss, Hugo (1860-1925) 
 German Jewish jurist and politician, wrote the constitution of the Weimar Republic 
 Preuss was a lecturer in the University of Berlin, as an expert on German constitutional law. At the end of World War I he became Minister of the Interior in the new Republic's Government and headed the committee, which drafted the constitution. Because of his opposition to the Versailles treaty, Preuss resigned from Government.
